Debut Episode/Fic "Rainforest Shmainforest"

Kelly is a member of the Getting Gay With Kids choir and Kenny McCormick's first girlfriend. She first appeared in "Rainforest Shmainforest" and made several cameos in the third season.

Please visit her article on the South Park Archives for more information.

She has blonde hair tied back in a ponytail, wears a blue sweater with green trim with a flower embroidered on one side, and dark blue pants. The band which ties her hair back is green.

In "Rainforest Shmainforest", she seems to have issues with severing relationships, even, albeit temporarily, preventing herself from getting in a relationship with Kenny. She also has a bad nose-picking habit. She is rather sweet, and is one of the few people to actually show concern for him when he dies. She even called Kyle and Stan out on their usual "They killed Kenny" catchphrase, asking who killed him. She does have a habit of saying his name wrong, though.

Fanon and Fandom

During the decade between the character's appearance and Tammy Warner's debut, owing to multiple cameos in the third season and her reference to a possible long-distance relationship with Kenny, it was common for het writers to treat Kenny and Kelly's relationship as still ongoing but merely off-screen, and it was still one of the more common het ships. Kelly was also one of the more popular female characters in the show before background female characters became more popular. Since Kenny and Tammy's relationship appeared, Kelly's popularity gradually fell.

As a result of her relationship with Kenny, she was sometimes depicted as having a level of sexual obsession similar to his own and other traits that mirrored her boyfriend; she was also sometimes depicted with an interest in photography, singing or environmentalism, or some combination of these, based on the episode she debuted in.

She nearly appeared in South Park: The Stick of Truth which would have depicted her as "too emotionally damaged" for a real, in-person relationship, and where she would have cited Wendy Testaburger as her best friend, according to temp lines in early versions of the game.
