This is a thread for open feedback regarding the wiki -- what you think we should be focusing on, or not focusing on.
The current state of the wiki is that there is no path forward at present, to be honest with you. My last focus was community websites but a point was made about some sites containing inappropriate content so I stopped doing any of that. Some staff worked on fanfiction pages. The shipping pages would be gone yesterday if I hadn't been alerted it could trigger problems with FANDOM staff. The attempted expansion of canon articles was scrapped due to lack of verifiability, edit warring and increased concern about spreading misinformation vs South Park Archives. Pretty much every project on this site is marred by a sense of scandal, to be frank with you. I think it's clear to many of you that I don't have a passion for fan content anymore. (Does anyone?)
So, the floor is open.
Hey guys, me and some friends wrote an open letter to the South Park animation team about the love so many fans share for the show's background and one-time characters and easter eggs, and decided to try to make something small happen in the new season that would make a lot of fans happy. We're looking to get as many signatures as possible by February 8. I believe we have ways to ensure it is seen at the studio but we need to prove it's worth a look. Petitions like these often succeeded based on the SPEED at which they build momentum, attracting more signatures as a result, so time is paramount! Please take the time to sign & share!
in celebration of wendy wednesday #100, dairy queen will be giving away free mcflurries to anyone who comes in with a pink beret and a gun.
say what you will about his quest for world domination, but @Zaquarvious is the #1 goat when it comes to spreading artist awareness, and keeping this place alive with biweekly posts. we all want to be creatives and not have crappy real jobs, but that's only possible if there's an environment of views and engagement on creative products. this is what wendy wednesday helps to create, and that's why zaq is superior to the lot of you.
this is the greatest milestone in fandom history that i'm aware of. so on 10/26, give wendy wednesday #100 a like, post under it with your favorite wendy or fast-food moments, and like and follow the linked-to artist on deviantart, or else expect to be banned.

A recent thread here got very out of hand - two of them, I'd say, actually, but one of them seemed to resolve itself peacefully, and the other needed to be deleted.
Going forward, let's please:
Avoid ship shaming here. There are some ships that are disgusting but if it's that bad, contact a staff members to have it removed, and otherwise never bring it up.
Do not ring up other users' social media posts as a point of criticism. I understand why this is done sometimes because most fan content is not posted to the wiki itself; but I don't think it's helpful here.
...but If you are suggesting a certain trope needs a page on the wiki, you MAY cite social media posts as evidence (multiple authors please)
Do not make posts that generalize the whole fandom (or shippers) here. This is discussions for the fanon wiki and we want to be supportive to the fandom. 'Some fans mess up Brimmy's characterization' is fine for being critical. 'Why do fans always make Brimmy evil' is too hyperbolic.
Feel free to @ me, leave a message on my wall or contact me on discord when things get out of hand or make you uncomfortable.
Shout-out to @Zaquarvious for stepping in and asking other users to be peaceful.
I’ve made an South Park fanon discord server

And a 4th 'event' later this summer!
Please welcome @RavingGizamon @Clydefrogger and @Myflower22 to the staff today -- they are each people who have expressed an interest in fandom history for several months to me. They are new to the software here but already shown a willingness to help improve the wiki. I trust them completely in how to help us handle content, which is more than I can say about many users I have considered for staff positions in the past. They are, accordingly, content moderators with rollback rights and the ability to moderate discussions as well.
Part of this discussion involved bringing back the shipping pages, which they have already made some strong movements on, with a new disclaimer/template we are adding to as many articles as possible. There will also be the expansion of some new fanfiction articles, which is something that has been a problem for a long time. We will also be expanding our coverage of canon characters again, a project I was starting to think wouldn't be worth staff time!
This is the most exciting day for this wiki I've had in a long time, and I am so proud to share this with you all!
I wanted to make a short non-announcement to make clear that Discussions WILL remain a part of this wiki for the foreseeable future.
The factors that lead to the decision to remove discussions from the South Park Archives simply do not apply here - this wiki lacks any form of credibility to be misused or threatened elsewhere, we have always trafficked in fan content from the beginning, and as a result of the previous factors, we've also had a looser hand towards jokes/memes, although that does not mean we want users to spam the forum with useless quizzes either. Conversations and analysis about canon are welcome and fine. Content that is disruptive will still be deleted, but this has rarely been an issue here.
Refugees from SPA discussions are welcome here if they choose.
I had to delete a thread today that got a little out of hand. Some users raised some good points but things were becoming tense and far from civil. It was lovely to see some activity in discussions but the original post was technically interpersonal - a user addressing a user - and I was concerned about potential for drama. This notice is mostly for transparency.
Keep it classy, folks. Next time I will have to extend consequences.

We are working on updating our Rules and Policies per today's announcement. Make suggestions here!
Since this wiki's been pretty dormant, and articles cannot be made, I think we should abandon this wiki.
Yes, we have finally had our system switched from FANDOM's forums to the brand-new Discussions system! This allows you to chat with other South Park fans about whatever you may like -
The GENERAL section is for discussing anything to do with running this wiki - tips, stuff you'd like to see, etc.
The NEWS section is for news related to either the wiki or South Park.
The SOUTH PARK (CANON) section is for discussing the show and only the show as it exists.
The FANON section is for sharing headcanons to your heart's content and posting fan theories!
The SHIPPING section is for discussing your ships with other users!
There's a special section for FANKIDS - talk about original characters there!
The FANWORKS section is for linking to your fanfiction fanart, or roleplays.
The OFFTOPIC section is for talking about anything you want and socializing.
Have fun! :)
